DEPARTURE - Nikhileswar Baruah's recent works

Hacienda Gallery, Mumbai presents Nikhileswar Baruah's solo exhibition from March 31 to April 8. Titled Departure, this is a collection of acrylic on canvas.

Baruah is based in Baroda. Born in 1967, Assam, he completed BA and MA Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University, Baroda. This is his fifth solo exhibition and has shown in several important curated shows across the country. He was awarded 'Emerging Artist of the Year' award, Harmony in 2000.

Baruah's works are visually stimulating and thought-provoking. He has always maintained an independent visual identity among his contemporaries. His paintings have an international feel and address issues that are universal. Baruah's dedicated approach to his metier has seen him evolve steadily over the years and brought maturity in his works. This is best demonstrated in the Departure series.
